About Dr. Peterson
Dr. Lisa Peterson is the training director for the School Psychology PhD Program at New Mexico State University. She received her doctorate in school psychology from Texas A&M University, with specialized training in prevention science and bilingual school psychology. Her research interests focus on how to best support the mental health needs of culturally and linguistically diverse children in the schools. She is also interested in professional issues in school psychology, including supervision, school-based mental health models, and addressing the national shortage of school psychologists, and is engaged in disability advocacy. Dr. Peterson has extensive clinical experience providing services to children and families in public schools and community mental health clinics.
